PetroLynk

PetroLynk is a program to aid Petroleum Marketers in processing credit card transactions. Having developed applications for companies such as Snapper Power Equipment, Orgill Inc., and Textron, SofTek's PetroLynk program brings the Petroleum Industry a powerful business tool.

The Problem...
When dealerships batch their credit card transactions to the refiners and the refiner transmits those transactions back to the jobber, the time and effort spent by the jobber to process and distribute those credits to the dealers was a costly and cumbersome one. The cost of tracking the transactions by hand (reading the files, hand entering in spread sheets, etc.) can easily amount to twenty labor hours a week for even a medium sized jobber! That can easily be more than $12,000.00 a year spent to verify these transactions! If a jobber is not processing the batches at all hoping they all are correct, he's losing money as well. This jobber can be paying his dealerships for slips turned in but will never know if he received the funds from the refiner. This may cause him to pay out funds that were never paid in.

The Solution... Automate batch processing with PetroLynk
PetroLynk automates the process and eliminates the wasted expense and risk of processing the credit card transactions. A quick glance at a dealers account can immediately tell you if there is an issue with a batch. This makes it easier to shift the responsibility to the dealership to contact the refiner, thus eliminating the jobber from being in the middle of a failed batch transmission issue and providing useful information to the dealership to state his case to the refiner.

PetroLynk was created to import the files sent to the jobber via monochrome units, color units or the web and then allow the user to quickly process the transactions with little effort. Although the file contains pricing, invoices, etc. for that jobber, PetroLynk is designed to pull out the credit card files (typically referred to as "CCM" files) from the capture.log or messages file and leaves the other data intact for use with other programs. For jobbers that make direct deposits to their stations instead of posting the credits to their accounts receivable, PetroLynk even has the ability to create an ACH file (bank file) that can be sent to the jobbers bank to notify the bank as to where and how much to transfer funds.
